Artist Statement: Sol.W.Whiteside is a visual artist from UK Wales. Through his early education, he explored his expressions for wildlife and nature and ever since has been the core foundation for his work. As a child he was often influenced by books and fairytales including the likes of John Bauer's "Swedish Folk Tales", and the "Grimm's Fairy Tales" by J.L.C and W.C. Grimm. On finishing his degree at the University Of The West Of England, Sol had found his passion for mixed media based illustration. While working primarily with paintings and drawings he uses a variety of different materials such as ink, marker pens, acrylic and oil paint to achieve his desired effect. His present work has progressed towards the concept of colour development as his influences are referenced with more of a contemporary approach.
