Seascapes have been my primary focus since 2005 which developed from embarking on the subject of “J class yachts”, resulting in the study of the sea and learning to convey its character, strength and beauty in its chaotic and calmer states. It is a privilege as an artist to be working with this subject as it came to me quite unexpectedly and I have remained captured by it ever since. I have a background education of a HND Design/Wildlife Illustration (1994), and that Illustrative style can still be found in some of my mixed media works. I also enjoy landscape painting as a second to my primary and also working with other subjects (when they come up), overall remaining open to refining my techniques, experimenting, challenging myself and continuing to learn about painting.
