I am a fine artist/oil painter based in South Wales where I now have a studio. I am inspired by the natural world and work primarily with oil paint on canvas using palette knife. My focus is to convey my emotive reaction to the subject using its colour energy and light. I spent 25 years in Gloucestershire where I studied Fine art. My work includes seascape, landscape and wildlife and I have exhibited regularly throughout Gloucestershire where my work is well known. “I cannot remember a time when I was not drawing and painting. It is simply how I live.” I studied fine art at Pittville Cheltenham (University of Gloucestershire) this has helped develop my approach to painting and shape what I want to achieve with my work. I enjoy the feel of using natural material to convey the beauty I see in nature. I always start by thinking about my reaction, what it is in the subject that I feel I want to share. When the work goes well I like to think it will go to a good home -that someone will enjoy that reaction whenever they look at it.
