Ronnie is a professional Artist now living and working on the Wirral. She was an Art Tutor in the North Wales community for over twenty years. When she retired from teaching, Ronnie continued her creative path and has become a recognised Artist in her own right. She was recently elected as a Member of the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art. In 2024, The National Trust commissioned her to create a design for their enhanced Giftware Range at Penrhyn Castle. “As a visual creative Artist, I enjoy exploring methods of practice without notion of what the outcome will be. I know these tentative, exploratory marks will inform my future work. My visual language stems from observing the surface qualities found in the landscape, I seek to recreate those textures and patterns in my paintings. I create textural marks on thin Tissue papers, using tools and methods acquired through many hours of experimental play. Sometimes the organic marks created have their own artistic voice, I allow them to tell the story. The papers are layered amongst Acrylic painting, sanded down, distressed and re painted. I like to bury the collaged pieces into my work, so that it is difficult to tell where the paper starts and paint begins.”
