I have been a batik artist since 1978, having learnt the amazing medium on my art teacher training course. I have taught batik to all ages & abilities throughout Wales and in the US, whilst developing my own work. I have always exhibited regularly, with batiks in private and public collections worldwide. I love trying to portray ordinary British life in this Far Eastern medium.I love the challenge of creating recognisable images using unpredictable hot wax & cold water dyes on fabric. I am the Welsh Representative for the international Batik Guild and recently produced a YouTube video called " Batik: A Basic Method". I am an advocate for batik to be considered a fine art so am delighted to be included in this show.
