Artist’s Statement In 2022, after 33 years in Industry, I enrolled on an Art Foundation Course in Cardiff. What an experience! Having painted for over 35 years I was now being exposed to a completely new and exciting way of perceiving and creating art. With my true creative voice liberated, I now experiment joyfully and freely with colour and texture using a variety of mediums in the pursuit of emotionally driven artwork. I aim to create a feeling associated with a personal experience, often related to the outdoors and nature. I explore colour, shapes, patterns and motifs that evoke that emotion, innovating through the application of paint and the build up of layers with different medium such as paint, inks, crayons, charcoal, collage, embroidery threads and print. The only constraint I have is the extent of my own imagination.
