Artist statement 'My drawings are my way of capturing treasured memories from family days out, as well as appreciating architecture from around the world. I try to highlight the unusual or hidden details of buildings that people walk past every day without really noticing. I am always very drawn to chimneys and towers for some reason! The craftmanship and design of every feature deserves to be appreciated, and my static, highly detailed drawings give people a chance to stop and take the time to absorb these intricate aspects that they might never have otherwise noticed. I work predominantly in fineline pen and, in my more extravagent works, with watercolours. I have no formal artistic training; it is simply my therapeutic way of combining my passion for art and architecture. In particular I enjoy focusing on the places in South Wales I've repeatedly enjoyed over the past forty years, and which I now have the pleasure of sharing with my young daughter.'
