Kate's artistic journey started at St Martins School of Art in London where she did a Foundation Course, followed by a degree in Theatre Design in Birmingham. After this, her work took off in a different direction, firstly into stage management and then into theatre and arts management. Whether working in the visual arts, theatre, dance or music, Kate's passion has always been helping the arts reach a wider audience, both for observers and participants. More recently Kate has rekindled the joy of making marks and swapped from writing grant applications and business plans to once again having paint and inks all over her clothes.  Kate discovered a love for printmaking after doing an inspiring course at Cardiff Print Workshop. She says, "I particular enjoy the creative process and playing with the techniques, not always aware of what the end result will be.".  Most recent work is monotype printing, but Kate also enjoys drypoint etching, chine-collé and collograph. "I am particularly drawn to monotype printing for its spontaneity and its ability to capture the fleeting, ever-changing nature of our surroundings. My recent prints are experimental pieces that layer inks, water, and natural materials to reflect organic flow and change of the surrounding land and seascape." July 2025
