I'm a colourist painter, making landscapes and still life pictures in oil, acrylic or egg tempera. For me, the meaning and emotion in art comes more from the colours than what is depicted. I try not to think too much about what's going on when I'm painting. With my still life work, I'm really trying to project uncomplicated joy and amazement with life. My bolder extrovert flower paintings have been a means to express my optimism, and a sense of wonder in nature. I work full time as a mental health nurse, and painting these pictures occupies much of my free time. Glenn Carney 2026
