Artist Statement: As a mature student on a foundation art degree my practice is rooted in exploring the beauty of the outdoors through ceramics, acrylics, oils and mixed media. Returning to education has given me the space to reconnect with creativity, experiment and develop a clearer artistic voice. Nature and beauty are central to my work - its colours, textures and quiet rhythms inspire both the subjects I choose and the materials I use. Ceramics provides a direct, grounding connection to the earth, while acrylics and oils allow me to capture the shifting atmospheres and emotional qualities of natural landscapes. Through mixed media I merge these approaches, creating pieces that reflect the complexity and calmness of outdoor environments. My work invites viewers to pause and notice the subtle beauty that often goes unseen. Each piece is both a personal exploration and a celebration of the natural world that continues to guide my practice.
